As a non-profit organisation, our aim is to ensure high and equivalent payouts from the telecoms industry for all charities and non-profit organisations, regardless of their size.
Additionally, we provide help and advice with marketing and promotion of numbers to ensure that from sign-up to payment, the process is straightforward.
What makes a number wonderful?
- Telephone donation lines provide a very effective tool for charities of all sizes to accept micro donations, since no credit card, cheque or bank transactions need to be processed.
- Minimal effort is required on the part of your supporters - they simply dial a number and listen to a brief customised message thanking them for their donations.
- Your charity receives a single monthly payment from The Wonderful Foundation, rather than processing multiple transactions from individual supporters.
- Provision for Gift Aid is handled by The Wonderful Foundation through a simple telephone menu option, meaning an additional 21p may be earned from every Gift Aided donation.
- The process is streamlined and straightforward. The Wonderful Foundation provides guidance on promotion, revenue maximisation and compliance with relevant regulations.
How much will my organisation earn?
Calls to a wonderful number cost £1 including VAT. After VAT, industry levies and operating costs have been deducted, your organisation will earn 75p from every call - or 96p where donations are eligible for Gift Aid.

Is the Wonderful service really free?
Absolutely!
There is no charge for your wonderful number or its ongoing use - no set-up cost, service plan charge nor renewal fee.
Furthermore, your charity is free to use the telephone donation line for a single campaign, or as a central component of your future fundraising activities.
Wonderful numbers can be promoted on your website, added to email signatures, flyers and brochures, displayed on outdoor media, TV & radio promotions and used in countless other ways.
How is the telephone donation line service operated?
- Callers dial your wonderful number and listen to a brief bespoke announcement thanking them for calling and advising them that they have just donated 75p.
- No further action is required, but UK taxpayers are invited to Gift Aid their donation by pressing a key on their telephone.
- A recording of the caller's name, address and postcode is captured and this is instantly emailed to your organisation for Charity Commission and HMRC audit purposes.
- A monthly statement is issued to your organisation which details the total number of calls received and revenue earned.
- Payment is then made directly to your charity's bank account each month, all of which frees you to concentrate on promoting your wonderful number.
