£100.00 + £12.50 Gift Aid = £112.50
Donated to Help me go to school. Grapevine Programme’s £5000.00 Goal

Keeping families together

Grapevine is an outreach programme for children living in scavenger communities, who can remain living at home but without support would find attending school very difficult and may have to abandon their education and work as a scavenger on the dump to provide income for the family.

Support for schooling

Through Grapevine, the family receive financial support for books and travel to school until the child completes their full time education in local schools, colleges and even University, giving them the best opportunity to reach her potential.

Crucially Children of the Dump covers the income that the child would otherwise earn helping their parent scavenge on the the Dump, allowing them to carry on with studies without the pressure of feeling they should be helping her family.

All funds raised will be passed to Asian Students Christian Trust irrespective of whether our appeal target is reached, not reached or exceeded. If funds are being raised for a specific purpose and, for whatever reason, this purpose is no longer valid, the funds will be transferred to the charity for general use.

The charity

Children of the Dump is the operating name of ASCT. The charity transforms the lives of scavenger children through education. The work focuses on the rubbish dumps of Manila in the Philippines where families scrape an existence by scavenging for anything they can sell or eat. We provide a range of services to help the child to go to school. We are a very small UK charity with minimal costs.

Registered charity (no. 272328).

What makes us wonderful?

We recognise the selfless commitment made by fundraisers who train for months to run marathons, face their fears by jumping out of aeroplanes or open their homes to the community for charity bakes and coffee mornings. We believe the charities they support should receive EVERY PENNY from their fundraising efforts.

We also believe that Gift Aid (a scheme enabling charities to reclaim tax on donations made by UK taxpayers) should be directed IN FULL to the charities. This is why the Wonderful Organisation does not generate profit (or even cover costs) by deducting money from fundraisers' sponsors or Gift Aid contributions.

We are a non-profit organisation funded entirely by like-minded, philanthropic businesses. That's what makes us wonderful!
