Help Us Go Green!

for Brick Lane Music Hall Charity

£730.00 + £140.00 Gift Aid = £870.00
Donated to Help Us Go Green!’s £20000.00 Goal

In October 2021 our Outreach work in care homes, hospices and long stay wards will be jeopardised as we will find ourselves in London's Ultra Low Emissions Zone and the Brick Lane Music Hall van, vital to our work, will no longer meet the required emissions standards.

As an unsubsidised theatre, we have managed to fund the work of the Brick Lane Music Hall Charity to date without any kind of public appeal. But purchasing an electric van is a step too far for us, so for the first time in 27 years, we are asking for help to raise funds to keep the show on the road.

All donations and fundraising activities welcome.

All funds raised will be passed to Brick Lane Music Hall Charity irrespective of whether our appeal target is reached, not reached or exceeded. If funds are being raised for a specific purpose and, for whatever reason, this purpose is no longer valid, the funds will be transferred to the charity for general use.

The charity

Brick Lane Music Hall has always been involved in community ventures, from schools projects and educational tours to raising funds for homes for the elderly, and support for local charities, particularly pensioners groups.

The Brick Lane Music Hall Charity was created in 1996 specifically to take music hall entertainment to the elderly and those unable to travel to the theatre in the form of Outreach shows.

The value of music and song in improving all-round health and as an aid to recovery is now well known. Over the years, the Brick Lane Music Hall Charity has sent hundreds of shows to care homes, day centres, hospices and long stay wards. One of the many benefits has been that the carers have often come to view residents in a different light, as they spring to life with memories or reveal hidden talents!

Registered charity (no. 1053950).

What makes us wonderful?

We recognise the selfless commitment made by fundraisers who train for months to run marathons, face their fears by jumping out of aeroplanes or open their homes to the community for charity bakes and coffee mornings. We believe the charities they support should receive EVERY PENNY from their fundraising efforts.

We also believe that Gift Aid (a scheme enabling charities to reclaim tax on donations made by UK taxpayers) should be directed IN FULL to the charities. This is why the Wonderful Organisation does not generate profit (or even cover costs) by deducting money from fundraisers' sponsors or Gift Aid contributions.

We are a non-profit organisation funded entirely by like-minded, philanthropic businesses. That's what makes us wonderful!
