The URC Building and its graceful spire occupy a landmark position in Farnham. People have been worshipping in this building for the past 150 years. Many people and community groups use the building on a daily basis. Those of us who worship here on a Sunday love our building, however, we recognise that it is no longer fit for purpose and needs to be brought up to 21st century standards. Our plans will enable us to provide much improved facilities.

We have embarked on a series of a ambitious projects to make our building a better resource for the benefit of everyone in our community.

We need your help to raise the £2 million needed to turn our vision into reality.

All funds raised will be passed to Farnham United Reformed Church irrespective of whether our appeal target is reached, not reached or exceeded. If funds are being raised for a specific purpose and, for whatever reason, this purpose is no longer valid, the funds will be transferred to the charity for general use.

The charity

The Spire Church is a newly formed church created through a partnership between Farnham United Reformed Church and Farnham Methodist Church.

Both churches have worshipped in South Street since the 1870s and have enjoyed a very friendly relationship stretching back over many decades. We have frequently shared services and exchanged preachers, as well as having joint Sunday Schools and social activities in earlier years.

As a church, we seek to respond to the Gospel of God’s love in Christ, and live out our discipleship in worship and mission.  We strive to welcome everyone, young and old, engaging with the community around us, through our coffee bar, groups for children, and for older people.

Whoever you are, wherever you are on life’s journey, you are welcome here!

Please note that all money donated via this page will be routed to The Pilgrim Project, our project to bring our building up to 21st century standards, making it a better resource for the benefit of everyone in our community.

What makes us wonderful?

We recognise the selfless commitment made by fundraisers who train for months to run marathons, face their fears by jumping out of aeroplanes or open their homes to the community for charity bakes and coffee mornings. We believe the charities they support should receive EVERY PENNY from their fundraising efforts.

We also believe that Gift Aid (a scheme enabling charities to reclaim tax on donations made by UK taxpayers) should be directed IN FULL to the charities. This is why the Wonderful Organisation does not generate profit (or even cover costs) by deducting money from fundraisers' sponsors or Gift Aid contributions.

We are a non-profit organisation funded entirely by like-minded, philanthropic businesses. That's what makes us wonderful!
