Bradford Metropolitan Food Bank is a charitable organisation, run entirely by volunteers who are fully committed to ensuring that people in need of help in the Bradford Metropolitan District receive free food, regardless of ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, age, or background. We receive donations of non-perishable food items from a wide range of organisations, groups and individuals. We hold two regular sessions each week, where our volunteers sort and pack the donations into food bags, which in turn are distributed to families and individuals in need via a variety of support agencies such as social services, youth projects, housing organisations, advice projects, and community centres.
We estimate that the value of the food in each bag amounts to £15 and at present we are distributing more than of 1,200 food parcels per month to professional agencies to give to their clients who are in crisis. We are only able to maintain this high level of provision and nutritional balance by buying staple food items such as long life milk, breakfast cereal, pasta and peanut butter. This is why financial donations are so important to us and why they make such a difference to the health and well being of the people who receive our food bags.
Every donation makes a difference. Thank you for your support!

We recognise the selfless commitment made by fundraisers who train for months to run marathons, face their fears by jumping out of aeroplanes or open their homes to the community for charity bakes and coffee mornings. We believe the charities they support should receive EVERY PENNY from their fundraising efforts.
We also believe that Gift Aid (a scheme enabling charities to reclaim tax on donations made by UK taxpayers) should be directed IN FULL to the charities. This is why the Wonderful Organisation does not generate profit (or even cover costs) by deducting money from fundraisers' sponsors or Gift Aid contributions.
We are a non-profit organisation funded entirely by like-minded, philanthropic businesses. That's what makes us wonderful!
