Eden's half marathon for Cornwall's wildlife
Since I was a little girl I've loved wildlife.
I remember countless times running around the garden bare foot and my socks and shoes no where to be seen. Wanting to explore the garden before me, to feel the grass below my feet whilst sitting quietly and listening to the birds singing in the trees, eager to smell the nearest flowers my mum had planted (lavender is our favourite).
I think you'll agree, our Cornish nature reserves are truly something special. Days out with my family in the woods are my favourite of all. We stand there looking and quietly listening, we discover butterflies, beetles and the occasional ladybird. We can hear birds of all types singing and attending to their young high up in the trees.
Wildlife has always been around us, working together in its beautiful life cycles. So many wonderful animals, such astonishing types of plants and flowers.
I now want to give back, to keep our beautiful wildlife thriving, to be able to keep teaching my children about the wonders of Cornish wildlife and all wildlife.
We recently learnt how to build a hedgehog house for our garden and the life of a barn owl. Both amazing events run by the Cornish Wildlife Trust, in which we hope to attend many more.
Please help me by donating to this amazing Trust today.
Together we can make a difference.
Thank you,Sarah Summers
