About Cyfannol Women's Aid

Cyfannol Women’s Aid is the leading provider of support services for individuals and families affected by violence against women, domestic abuse and sexual violence across Gwent, South Wales.

We provide tailored support, ranging from practical help with accommodation, safety planning and accessing services, to emotional support via one-to-one appointments, counselling and group work. We also offer children and young people’s services, and education programmes for adults. Specialist support for victims and survivors of sexual violence is available through our Horizon project.

At Christmas, we welcome contributions towards gifts and food to help women and children in our refuges and across Gwent have a special Christmas, as they rebuild their lives.

Throughout the rest of the year, we use donations to fund activities and items that are not grant funded. Please see our website for ideas and get in touch with us if you would like to discuss how your donation can make a difference to individuals and families we support:

Special Forces Challenge

I went through a few abusive relationships and also abused myself over the years with drugs, alcohol and a not so rock and roll lifestyle to cover up what was really going on. However Cyfannol women’s aid took me into refuge and they helped me to start a new life and we’re there at the beginning to help me turn my life around. Women’s Aid refuges don’t just help women they help men too, however sometimes due to lack of funding these women, men and children who flee domestic abuse don’t always get the nice life afterwards, they need new homes, identities, clothes, food, sanitary goods and furniture. A lot of these people just like me end up with severe mental health disorders like PTSD, anxiety and severe depression they struggle daily with suicidal thoughts and feelings.I myself have been in this place and know how crippling it can be to not only lose your home, possessions and dignity but be on the brink of losing your mind.I turned my life around with dedication and hard work and that is why I will be putting myself through a 28k point to point special forces route march and the famous sas fan dance route march this winter, to raise money to give women, children and men who have been through domestic abuse a chance to start a fresh and raise money to help fund furniture, bedding, clothes etc. Then help them begin their new lives free from abuse.I am also doing this to show that life after domestic ,sexual, physical, financial and mental abuse, and dealing with PTSD is possible. All of these things I have been through and faced and I want to make a stand for those who feel alone. So please donate what you can and let’s all make a stand that abuse in any form is not acceptable and help those who need it most. Love and light.Thank you
Annie xx

What makes us wonderful?

We recognise the selfless commitment made by fundraisers who train for months to run marathons, face their fears by jumping out of aeroplanes or open their homes to the community for charity bakes and coffee mornings. We believe the charities they support should receive EVERY PENNY from their fundraising efforts.

We also believe that Gift Aid (a scheme enabling charities to reclaim tax on donations made by UK taxpayers) should be directed IN FULL to the charities. This is why the Wonderful Organisation does not generate profit (or even cover costs) by deducting money from fundraisers' sponsors or Gift Aid contributions.

We are a non-profit organisation funded entirely by like-minded, philanthropic businesses. That's what makes us wonderful!
