The Castang Foundation funds research on cerebral palsy and other neurological conditions that cause disability. This includes basic science research to help understand the causes of disability, and research that focuses on the effectiveness of interventions to improve quality of life.
Miss Hilda Castang set up the H&M Castang Charitable Trust in 1986 following the death of her brother Max who had been born with cerebral palsy. Miss Castang felt that her brother Max did not have the quality of life he would have wished because of his cerebral palsy and was determined to provide funds for research into the causes and prevention of cerebral palsy and other neurodevelopment disorders.
Childhood neurodisability is very common – most people know at least one family where a child has disability due to a neurological condition. The Castang Foundation funds one or two new research projects each year. However, we would like to increase the amount of research we fund. Your donation to The Castang Foundation could part or completely fund research that could change children’s lives.

The Co-operative Bank are proud to be the main sponsorship partner of the Wonderful Organisation supporting charities to make a difference by ensuring 100% of donations go directly to doing good. Learn more about the Bank’s values and ethics.
We recognise the selfless commitment made by fundraisers who train for months to run marathons, face their fears by jumping out of aeroplanes or open their homes to the community for charity bakes and coffee mornings. We believe the charities they support should receive EVERY PENNY from their fundraising efforts.
We also believe that Gift Aid (a scheme enabling charities to reclaim tax on donations made by UK taxpayers) should be directed IN FULL to the charities. This is why the Wonderful Organisation does not generate profit (or even cover costs) by deducting money from fundraisers' sponsors or Gift Aid contributions.
We are a non-profit organisation funded entirely by like-minded, philanthropic businesses. That's what makes us wonderful!
