Brighton Colour Obstacle Rush
Hannah and I have been volunteering for Holding On Letting Go for 9 months now and when we first arrived, we were absolutely blown away with the work Holding On Letting Go do for bereaved children and parents/carers. This charity is so close to both of our hearts as both of us have experienced death of a loved one in childhood and understand how difficult it is as a child to deal with these painful emotions. This work they do continuously as well as on the support weekends helps them deal with their grieving process and gives them this insight and comfort to know they are not alone. Holding On Letting Go is not a government funded charity therefore relies on the support from corporate sponsorship and donations, our aim is to help raise money as well awareness for this charity as a loss of loved one will affect every single one of us in our lifetime.
The need for this support work is so important to ensure that children and young people are able to deal with their grieving process in a healthy way.
One parent dies every 22 minutes leaving behind dependent children in the UK, this is why the work Holding On Letting Go do is so significant. Through this voluntary experience we have realised the support that is given to these children is life changing as well as the parent/carers who are also offered support in dealing with their own grief as well as their dependant. We both wish we had this kind of support network in place when we were going through this process and honestly cannot thank Holding On Letting Go enough for letting us now be a part of it.
There will be 5 of us taking part in the 5K Colour Obstacle Rush in Brighton on June the 22nd 2019 in aid to raise money for this amazing cause.
Any donations would help make a difference.Thank you, Megan and Hannah x
