Birmingham Velo 42
I've got into the habit of using an electric bike, so, somewhat north of 50 years old can I manage a brisk 42 miles unaided around the West Midlands?
Sponsor me for the excellent Hope Projects and you can find out.
Together we can give hope to people in Britain who are denied even the absolute basics … people who are totally destitute … who have no home, no income, and seemingly no way out.
Hope provides housing and help in the West Midlands for homeless people refused by the UK asylum system. Many Home Office refusals are deeply flawed, leaving people trapped between living on the street in Britain or facing persecution in their country of origin. These wrong decisions can often be overturned if people get proper legal help.
With your help we can give people a roof over their head in one of our 12 houses, cash for food and essentials, and sound legal advice, so that they can start to live a normal life again.
If you'd like to run, swim, bake (or do anything else to raise some money), click the button below to get started. It's quick and easy to register and by doing so here at Wonderful.org, you can be sure that every penny raised will reach Hope Projects (West Midlands) .
We recognise the selfless commitment made by fundraisers who train for months to run marathons, face their fears by jumping out of aeroplanes or open their homes to the community for charity bakes and coffee mornings. We believe the charities they support should receive EVERY PENNY from their fundraising efforts.
We also believe that Gift Aid (a scheme enabling charities to reclaim tax on donations made by UK taxpayers) should be directed IN FULL to the charities. This is why the Wonderful Organisation does not generate profit (or even cover costs) by deducting money from fundraisers' sponsors or Gift Aid contributions.
We are a non-profit organisation funded entirely by like-minded, philanthropic businesses. That's what makes us wonderful!
