About If U Care Share Foundation

If U Care Share Foundation works to prevent suicide, support those who have lost loved ones and provide training to improve emotional and mental health.

The North East has the highest rate of suicide in the country and suicide continues to be the biggest killer of men under 50 and young people. We want to change that!

We offer a range of services to help people who have been affected by suicide, as well as working with young people in schools to promote positive emotional and mental health.

We can only continue to do our vital work with the support of people who go that extra mile to fundraise for us. Every penny really does count!

Dom's 1000KM To The Great North Run 2020 and beyond...

September 2019 I ran my first half marathon for IF U CARE SHARE FOUNDATION. It's amazing because going back to the beginning of the year I couldn't run a mile without wanting to pass out. It was a year filled with hurdles as far as my training goes (no pun intended) various health issues held my training back but once I started to train from mid-June I was gripped. I managed to finish 7 minutes faster than my target, completing it in 2HR 23MINS 4SECS, but who's counting anyway :)

After a week of recovery, I felt lost and my feet were starting to itch for me to get back out running and training. I had nothing to train for so I decided to push myself and set myself a goal, starting from 16th of September 2019 finishing with The great north run on the 13th of September 2020, Just under a year to run 1000KM and as many races my legs will let me do for IF YOU CARE SHARE and raise a bit of money along the way for this amazing foundation. The work they are doing and support they're providing is paramount at a time where suicide sadly seems to be at an all-time high and only getting worse. I have been affected personally with the loss of friends over the last nine years and it seems everyone I speak to either friends, family or work colleagues, we all know or know someone to have lost family or friends to suicide. Please help me raise as much money as possible for IUCSF to be able to provide more lifesaving help and support to prevent suicide and to help those to deal with the devastation suicide leaves behind. "I'ts ok not to feel ok"
I will update this list as I get signed up for races and do a few progress updates along the way :)

What makes us wonderful?

We recognise the selfless commitment made by fundraisers who train for months to run marathons, face their fears by jumping out of aeroplanes or open their homes to the community for charity bakes and coffee mornings. We believe the charities they support should receive EVERY PENNY from their fundraising efforts.

We also believe that Gift Aid (a scheme enabling charities to reclaim tax on donations made by UK taxpayers) should be directed IN FULL to the charities. This is why the Wonderful Organisation does not generate profit (or even cover costs) by deducting money from fundraisers' sponsors or Gift Aid contributions.

We are a non-profit organisation funded entirely by like-minded, philanthropic businesses. That's what makes us wonderful!
