About Katharine House Hospice Trust

Katharine House Hospice Adderbury, is an independent hospice supporting local people and their families facing life-limiting illnesses.

We care for almost 300 people at any one time in their homes, in care homes, at our hospice or in the hospital, and we’re available to a population of 155,000 people in North Oxfordshire, South Northamptonshire and South Warwickshire.

We believe everyone facing a life-limiting condition should have the opportunity to live as fully as possible with their illness, so we provide the care people need, where they need it and when they need it to enable that. All of our services are free of charge.

We need to raise over £3 million a year from our community to fund Katharine House, so thank you for thinking of us in your fundraising efforts.

Winchcombe Farm Holidays

Winchcombe Farm Holidays is taking part in the 'Karcher Accumulator Challenge,' to raise funds to support
Katharine House Hospice
near Banbury.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀The challenge is simple – Karcher give us £50 and 5 months to see how we can make it grow! We’re aiming to raise £500. Every penny raised is donated to the Hospice, which this year is facing a huge funding shortfall.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Each day it costs £11,000 to provide the hospice’s services and they rely on the local community and businesses for three-quarters of that funding.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀For each £2 you donate, you will be entered into our prize draw to win a luxury Harrods hamper (WE’VE BLOWN ALL OUR £50 ON THAT!) – but there’s a catch; you have to come and collect your Harrods hamper and stay for a couple of complimentray weekday nights in one of our lodges (or the tree house) of your choice between now and the end of March 2020.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀You can choose between our lovely Will's Tree House (sleeps 4), the unique ‘Bob’s Lodge’ (sleeps 8), the luxury Chicken Shed Lodge (sleeps 5) or our brand new lodge for 2019, George’s Getaway (sleeps 6 adults and 2 children). All have private hot tubs and the lodges all have stargazing domes, equipped with superking sized circular beds and telescopes.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Entries into our prize draw cost £2 each and you may enter as many times as you like (each £2 donation will be classed as a single entry).⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀The winner will be picked at random on Sunday 1st December 2019 by our son Bob (aged 4) and announced on our social media pages, along the total of how much we’ve raised. Then watch this space for our next accumulator challenge initiative…⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Thank you for your support!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

What makes us wonderful?

We recognise the selfless commitment made by fundraisers who train for months to run marathons, face their fears by jumping out of aeroplanes or open their homes to the community for charity bakes and coffee mornings. We believe the charities they support should receive EVERY PENNY from their fundraising efforts.

We also believe that Gift Aid (a scheme enabling charities to reclaim tax on donations made by UK taxpayers) should be directed IN FULL to the charities. This is why the Wonderful Organisation does not generate profit (or even cover costs) by deducting money from fundraisers' sponsors or Gift Aid contributions.

We are a non-profit organisation funded entirely by like-minded, philanthropic businesses. That's what makes us wonderful!
