Northumberland Half Marathon for Olivia Inspires
Nikita and Conor are running the Northumberland Half Marathon as part of a large group of students from University College Durham to raise money for the charity Olivia Inspires. It was set up in memory of a student who tragically passed away during her time at Castle, to help young people facing financial hardship to achieve their full potential.
The Swiss Army are taking their best, most experienced runner, 'Swiss Nik' out of retirement, to test its preparedness for a military invasion of the north of England. Don't tell them he's also passing back intel to the Russians. His vast experience stretches to a 12km, 18-pint fuelled 'fun run', so expect a resilient display of grit, and possibly what he had for breakfast.
As a keen triathlete, Conor is hoping to make a splash in the Tyne to gain an advantage over his land-based competitors. Although rumour has it this amphibian is much faster out of water, with an aim to complete the 21km in under 1h20. He promises this is not part of his wider campaign in the race for Vice Senior Student.
Any donations in memory of Olivia to this wonderful cause will be greatly appreciated.
