Jenny runs (unofficial) London Marathon!!!
Help! I am running 42km through the middle of the night around London and the only thing that will motivate me to get through it all is your hard earned cash!!
Along with a hoard of other bitter runners that did not secure their place in the official event, I will be running the course of the London marathon, from finish line to start line in the night before the official event begins. There will be additional challenges with this such as cars, buses, carrying my own water and snacks and mainly resisting stopping for a chat with the intoxicated city-dwellers remaining on the streets in the early hours.
Seriously, this is a long way to go and with an injury to my knee knocking back training efforts, it is a particularly daunting task. The motivation is to support many of my friends who are athletes with the Orwell Panthers. This is an athletics club for people with disabilities that I have been coaching at for the past two years and is full of some of the most determined and inspiring individuals out there. At the club, we dedicate a lot of time and energy in to athletics training but most importantly working on personal goals and wellbeing - and funnily enough this also ends up being a lot of fun!We are a tiny charity in comparison to most, but we have a huge impact in the lives of our athletes and our Suffolk-based community of positive and determined people. We have bills to pay, new equipment dreams and most significantly (in the financial sense) want to help send some of our athletes to the 2021 Special Olympics in Liverpool. It seems a long way off but with lots of funds to raise, we are starting now!
Please be generous in supporting me on this mission and supporting the Orwell Panthers.Don't miss out on your chance to contribute to our first ever event using online fundraising too!
Many many thanks in advance if you choose to donate.
