Mike and Emma and their Inca Trail Adventure
My wife Emma and I are hoping to raise money for Jane Scarth House who provide emotional and practical support to anyone whose life is affected by cancer. We will be embarking on an incredible adventure with our friends Nigel and Carol Harper of trekking the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. Our journey will take us along a breathtakingly beautiful route, through valleys and high passes, scattered with fascinating Inca Ruins. Trekking along Inca-paved paths and steps, through lush cloud forest to the most demanding part of our journey, Dead Woman's Pass (4200m), which will see us continually climbing up and sometimes down, with the altitude adding to our challenge. Our journey will end at Sun Gate, which overlooks Machu Picchu. We are both excited and scared, but hope that taking on this challenge and facing some personal fears (mainly heights and bugs) will help raise money for this wonderful cause.Romsey Cancer Support Centre (Jane Scarth House) are a local charity and their only source of income is donations from supporters and voluntary organisations in the local area.
Whether you are able to donate a little or a lot, every penny will have an impact on helping them continue to provide support to anyone whose life has been affected by cancer, be it the person living with cancer, their family member, close friend, carer or partner.
