SERV Kent, “Service by Emergency Response Volunteers” also known as the Bloodrunners is a charity that provides emergency courier services transporting blood products, samples and other patient essential items for the major hospitals and hospices in Kent outside normal working hours.
Without SERV Kent, deliveries would have to be made by other means, each of which have their own challenges:
In addition, we provide and maintain the blood supply for the Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulances enabling them to carry blood on board therefore saving the lives of many patients.
SERV Kent supplies all these needs quickly, reliably and FREE of any charge, thus freeing up much-needed funds for improved patient care and other facilities within the hospitals and other charities.
SERV volunteers provide their services free of charge including fuel and phone expenses and consequently we save the NHS thousands of pounds a year.
Our motto is #itswhatwedo and the desire of every member is simple - to help save lives.
In recent years the charity has handled more than 3000 calls each year and is recognised by the major hospitals as an essential service.

The Co-operative Bank are proud to be the main sponsorship partner of the Wonderful Organisation supporting charities to make a difference by ensuring 100% of donations go directly to doing good. Learn more about the Bank’s values and ethics.
We recognise the selfless commitment made by fundraisers who train for months to run marathons, face their fears by jumping out of aeroplanes or open their homes to the community for charity bakes and coffee mornings. We believe the charities they support should receive EVERY PENNY from their fundraising efforts.
We also believe that Gift Aid (a scheme enabling charities to reclaim tax on donations made by UK taxpayers) should be directed IN FULL to the charities. This is why the Wonderful Organisation does not generate profit (or even cover costs) by deducting money from fundraisers' sponsors or Gift Aid contributions.
We are a non-profit organisation funded entirely by like-minded, philanthropic businesses. That's what makes us wonderful!
