Stepping Stones has been supporting people in West Dunbartonshire since 1991. We work with people, who experience common mental health problems, such as depression, anxiety and stress. We provide a range of free services for our members although donations are accepted for the activities we provide. The vast majority of people we support are on low incomes and in todays economic environment it is harder for us to continue to provide a wide and diversified service that meets the needs of the local population. People come to us in distress and in need of support. Some of the issues that affect people who use our services include; abuse, panic attacks, suicidal thoughts, bereavement, loss, isolation, unemployment, low self esteem and mental illness. Our services include;
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
Person Centred Counselling
WRAP (Wellness Recovery Action Plan)
Stepping Stones has to work incredibly hard to make ends meet and each year we find it more difficult to meet the demands placed upon our services. We believe that supporting a small local organisation like ours will give you better value for your donation. For example, £10 will book a room in a community venue for an hour and help us to run a support group for people with mental health conditions. £30 will pay for a facilitator for a Tai Chi class including the hire of a room for one hour. £100 will pay for 1000 information leaflets at a local printer.
If you'd like to run, swim, bake (or do anything else to raise some money), click the button below to get started. It's quick and easy to register and by doing so here at Wonderful.org, you can be sure that every penny raised will reach Stepping Stones Organisation (Mental Health).
The Co-operative Bank are proud to be the main sponsorship partner of the Wonderful Organisation supporting charities to make a difference by ensuring 100% of donations go directly to doing good. Learn more about the Bank’s values and ethics.
We recognise the selfless commitment made by fundraisers who train for months to run marathons, face their fears by jumping out of aeroplanes or open their homes to the community for charity bakes and coffee mornings. We believe the charities they support should receive EVERY PENNY from their fundraising efforts.
We also believe that Gift Aid (a scheme enabling charities to reclaim tax on donations made by UK taxpayers) should be directed IN FULL to the charities. This is why the Wonderful Organisation does not generate profit (or even cover costs) by deducting money from fundraisers' sponsors or Gift Aid contributions.
We are a non-profit organisation funded entirely by like-minded, philanthropic businesses. That's what makes us wonderful!
