Stratford-upon-Avon Choral Society is a traditional choral society with about 95 singing members drawn from Stratford and the surrounding communities. We have a long heritage, stretching back to 1836 – the year Queen Victoria came to the throne – which makes us one of the oldest choral societies in the land. In 2011 we celebrated our 175th anniversary with a joint concert with the Huddersfield Choral Society who were founded in the same year.
We sing a mixture of choral classics – Bach, Mozart, Haydn, Beethoven – and more contemporary pieces including occasional commissions of new works. We typically sing with young soloists who are either still studying or are in the early stages of their careers.
Our concerts are expensive to put on as we use professional soloists and orchestra in order to achieve the high musical standards that we desire and which our audiences have come to expect. However most of our concerts do not cover their costs, and our fundraising is to cover this gap and to enable us to maintain the high musical standards that we and our audiences enjoy.
Please give generously to enable this great musical tradition to survive and flourish in Stratford-upon-Avon.

The Co-operative Bank are proud to be the main sponsorship partner of the Wonderful Organisation supporting charities to make a difference by ensuring 100% of donations go directly to doing good. Learn more about the Bank’s values and ethics.
We recognise the selfless commitment made by fundraisers who train for months to run marathons, face their fears by jumping out of aeroplanes or open their homes to the community for charity bakes and coffee mornings. We believe the charities they support should receive EVERY PENNY from their fundraising efforts.
We also believe that Gift Aid (a scheme enabling charities to reclaim tax on donations made by UK taxpayers) should be directed IN FULL to the charities. This is why the Wonderful Organisation does not generate profit (or even cover costs) by deducting money from fundraisers' sponsors or Gift Aid contributions.
We are a non-profit organisation funded entirely by like-minded, philanthropic businesses. That's what makes us wonderful!
