About The Friends of Paddock School

Paddock School is a Special Day School on two sites in Wandsworth that caters for approximately 200 pupils from 3 to 19 years of age with:

  • Severe or Complex Learning Difficulties; or
  • Autism Spectrum Disorder with Moderate to Severe Learning Difficulties.

Paddock aims to nurture, inspire and transform the lives of the pupils

and provide high quality specialist education.

This charity - the Friends of Paddock School - works closely with the staff, parents and carers to help provide extra opportunities for the pupils and families of Paddock School which they otherwise would not have, including:

  • helping to provide funding for trips and educational visits;
  • purchasing a range of specialist equipment for use at school; and
  • organising activities for children who attend Paddock School and their families.

The school urgently needs to supplement its ageing (large and gas-guzzling) Mini-Bus fleet with

to enable students from both sites frequent and varied access to learning opportunities in the wider community.

These kind of experiences are vital to enable our students to develop the life-skills they will need, and have been shown to have a significant impact on independence and mental-health outcomes after they leave school.

The more money we can raise, the newer and more fuel-efficient the vehicles we can purchase, and the more of our students they will benefit. Our target is £50,000 making this by far our most ambitious appeal ever!

On behalf of the teachers, the students and our families, thank you for your support!

What makes us wonderful?

We recognise the selfless commitment made by fundraisers who train for months to run marathons, face their fears by jumping out of aeroplanes or open their homes to the community for charity bakes and coffee mornings. We believe the charities they support should receive EVERY PENNY from their fundraising efforts.

We also believe that Gift Aid (a scheme enabling charities to reclaim tax on donations made by UK taxpayers) should be directed IN FULL to the charities. This is why the Wonderful Organisation does not generate profit (or even cover costs) by deducting money from fundraisers' sponsors or Gift Aid contributions.

We are a non-profit organisation funded entirely by like-minded, philanthropic businesses. That's what makes us wonderful!
