About The PCC of St. Andrew and St. Mary Magdalene

Thank you for visiting our profile page on Wonderful.

We are an evangelical Anglican church seeking to encourage each other to love and follow Jesus day by day. We take the Bible as our handbook, containing all we need to know God and to live for him. We believe that by his Spirit, God speaks to us today through his word, the Bible.

Our vision is: to know Jesus and make Jesus known

  • To know Jesus is to know the God who made this universe and everything in it
  • To know Jesus is to be united with God and indwelt by His Holy Spirit
  • To know Jesus is to become the people we were created to be: holy, enjoying a living and loving relationship with our creator

We are a thriving and growing church community in Maidenhead town centre. Our aim is to proclaim the timeless message of Jesus Christ. We are a 'hospital for sinners not a hotel for saints'; everyone is welcome!

On Sundays we have five congregations with around 600 adults and children worshipping with us each week. We are a diverse bunch with many from overseas and a range of ages. As a large church family, we build relationships with each other through smaller 'Growth Groups' which meet during the week. As well as these, many people give their time to run groups and courses throughout the week. At St Mary's you are sure to find something to suit you and a place to use your skills and talents.

The Lord provides the finances for St Mary's mainly through the generous giving of our congregations. We plan our spending carefully in order to make the best use of the resources God gives us. Most members of our congregation give regularly through a 'Regular Giving Scheme', however this site is for those who wish to make one-off or ad-hoc gifts.

We thank you for contributing to the work and witness of St Mary's in this way.

What makes us wonderful?

We recognise the selfless commitment made by fundraisers who train for months to run marathons, face their fears by jumping out of aeroplanes or open their homes to the community for charity bakes and coffee mornings. We believe the charities they support should receive EVERY PENNY from their fundraising efforts.

We also believe that Gift Aid (a scheme enabling charities to reclaim tax on donations made by UK taxpayers) should be directed IN FULL to the charities. This is why the Wonderful Organisation does not generate profit (or even cover costs) by deducting money from fundraisers' sponsors or Gift Aid contributions.

We are a non-profit organisation funded entirely by like-minded, philanthropic businesses. That's what makes us wonderful!
