Tea for TO
As it says, it's Tea for TO! Quite simply it's a get-together, usually with tea, although other beverages may be consumed, and may be accompanied by food, and possibly cakes, to raise funds for TO, Tea for TO.
Tyneside Outdoors (TO) is a youth and community work charity set up to help people living in disadvantaged areas of Tyneside to access and enjoy outdoors and to use it for their health, well-being, enjoyment and development.
We currently deliver youth work activities in East and West Newcastle and in South Shields. Our youth work activities aim to help young people to develop their knowledge, skills and attitudes through engaging in out-of-doors activities that have enjoyment at their heart. Our groups engage in a range of different activities outdoors, we use the phrase 'doing stuff', anything from Ultimate Frisbee and flying kites to jumping in waterfalls and playing Spotlight (hide and seek in the dark with torches).
Where possible our activities are provided free, as the outdoors should be, so no one is excluded on the grounds of cost. However, the provision of good youth work staff and volunteers, the use of minibuses and other outdoor equipment means we must continue to raise funds to keep our groups active outdoors.
If you'd like to run, swim, bake (or do anything else to raise some money), click the button below to get started. It's quick and easy to register and by doing so here at Wonderful.org, you can be sure that every penny raised will reach Tyneside Outdoors.

Tea for TO, is as simple as fundraising gets. It's a chance to support TO's work by getting together with family, friends and/or colleagues, drinking Tea, other beverages may be available, eating food, and cake, and supporting TO.

Tea for TO can be as relaxed or as active as you like, maybe even both. Why not take Tea for TO outdoors and enjoy a great time with friends and family while enjoying the outdoors.

You can organise your own Tea for TO and set up your own 'Wonderful' fundraising page or simply ask people to donate here.

TO's West End Outdoors Youth Group helps young people living in the west end wards of Newcastle (Scotswood, Benwell, Elswick, etc.) to get active outdoors each week. As one young person put it, "it's like a normal youth club, but where they stay in most of the time and go out now and then, we go out most of the time and stay in now and then" (to plan how we're going to get out!).

The group relies on charitable donations to cover the cost of workers and the use of a minibus to get out to local outdoor spaces, the coast and local parks, to take part in all sorts of out-of-doors activities. Firm favourites for activities include Ultimate Frisbee, Foogby, and Spotlight (hide and seek in the dark with torches). During school holidays the group does full-day activities such as canoeing, bike rides, hill walking and beach BBQs.

The group is free to attend and where possible the activities are provided free to participants, as we don't want anyone to be excluded on the basis of cost. Therefore we are encouraging a pay as you feel system, where parents who would like to support the group's activities can pay what they feel is appropriate and affordable.

However, you don't need to have a child in the group in order to donate. If you like what the group does and want to support the young people's continued enjoyment of the outdoors on Tyneside please make a donation. By supporting this group you will be helping to ensure these young people have a 'great growing up' on Tyneside.

Tyneside Outdoors is setting up a new bike project for young people in Temple Memorial Park, South Shields. With many young people riding bikes in and around the park it's an ideal place to establish a project that helps young people stay active outdoors on their bikes, engages them in positive and healthy activities, and helps them to learn the skills to repair and maintain their bikes and to ride them safely.

As with all of TO's groups, the activities are provided free where ever possible. However, we do encourage people to pay as they feel, i.e. if you think the group is worth paying £3.00 per session, please consider donating this amount to help cover the costs of providing the sessions.

Of course you don't need to have a child involved in the group to donate, if you like what TO are providing you're welcome to support our work by making a donation at any time.

The Co-operative Bank are proud to be the main sponsorship partner of the Wonderful Organisation supporting charities to make a difference by ensuring 100% of donations go directly to doing good. Learn more about the Bank’s values and ethics.
We recognise the selfless commitment made by fundraisers who train for months to run marathons, face their fears by jumping out of aeroplanes or open their homes to the community for charity bakes and coffee mornings. We believe the charities they support should receive EVERY PENNY from their fundraising efforts.
We also believe that Gift Aid (a scheme enabling charities to reclaim tax on donations made by UK taxpayers) should be directed IN FULL to the charities. This is why the Wonderful Organisation does not generate profit (or even cover costs) by deducting money from fundraisers' sponsors or Gift Aid contributions.
We are a non-profit organisation funded entirely by like-minded, philanthropic businesses. That's what makes us wonderful!
