Flood Support for Woodthorpe J&I School
As reported on the BBC News & BBC Midlands, our wonderful school (Woodthorpe J&I School) was deluged with a flood at the start of the May Half Term (2018).
The damage to property & resources is extensive.
As of 4th June, the school
is closed to Junior & Infant children. Fortunately, some local schools are allowing our classes to be taught on their premises but our school community will be separated during that time.
Repairs to the physical building are being carried out courtesy of Birmingham City Council, but the length of time for the repairs and the damage to the resources are as yet unknown. What we do know is that books, bookcases, displays & other resources will be damaged & funds are being raised to replace those to continue to support the children's education.
With support, we're planning to replenish everything as quickly as possible. In advance, thank you for any donations given. Any support is very much appreciated. We will update progress as to the cost of the damage & funds raised, via social media.
With thanks, Woodthorpe Friends The PTA for Woodthorpe J&I School
