I decided to take on the challenge of running my first marathon partly for personal achievement, but also to help Bridges to Belarus, after hearing about their life-changing work.
I'm used to running much shorter distances (10K and a few half-marathons), so it is going to be a huge physical and mental challenge to train for the full marathon in the coming months. Dublin is a city I know well, having lived there for 6 years for university, and I'm looking forward to going back there for the event next October.
I will post updates about how training is coming along, and about other fundraising events I organise in the meantime to support the cause.
All donations go directly to the charity, and I will be paying all my own expenses for event entry, travel and accommodation, etc. Bridges to Belarus is a UK registered charity (number 1109946), run entirely by volunteers in the UK and Belarus.
