Team Jai Memorial Golf’s story
The golf tournament is held in memory of Jai Vaghela who lost his fight against brain tumour at the age of 19 in May 2007. He was diagnosed with brain tumour at the age of 2 and was under the care of Great Ormond Street Hospital.
Suresh Vaghela, Rohit Patel and Vikrant Vig have organised the event on Saturday 3rd August 2019.
Jai had passion for learning despite having complex conditions which did not inhibit his ability to participate in many different activities. He never allowed his condition to get the better of him and was always pushing others to strive for better and more. One of his teachers commented that “I felt very privileged to have been Jai’s Form Teacher and his cheerful personality, patience and kindness will stay with me forever. Most of all, I will always admire Jai for his uncomplaining nature and his sheer determination”. Jai spent enjoyed being student at Oak Lodge School, Finchley, London and remained a student there forever…
In our life time we will all experience the company of someone special and for friends and family Jai was special. Jai will always remain an inspiration to us all.
This year we are supporting "Hearts of Oak" charity. The charity advances the education of pupils attending both Oak Lodge School and Oak Bridge through the provision of facilities not provided by statutory authorities. The charity is very close to our hearts.
