“Roses are red
Speedwork is awful
In a nod to Bill B.
I’ll order a waffle”
Squeezing in a run before the rest of the world is even awake takes an extreme amount of willpower and dedication, and maybe a bit of insanity. But if you work at it, anyone can become an early riser.running at 4 am, shows you parts of yourself & city you wouldn’t be able to view in normal hours. I can sort out what’s important and shift my thinking. Being a young father of three, I use it as a coping mechanism for life’s challenges. Initially weight loss was the aim, however, I had more going on than I was aware of. Lost weight, gained medals, not that any ones counting (14 ), I eat better. Is this all down to running, not sure? Do I need to run, YES!
I will Let you in on a Little Secret……………..
I am doing the Virgin London Marathon 2020, I know crazy right.
The London Marathon is a long-distance running event held in London, United Kingdom, part of the World Marathon Majors. The 26.2-mile course is relatively flat and during the marathon runners will pass many famous landmarks including: Canary Wharf, Tower Bridge, the Cutty Sark, St Paul’s Cathedral, the London Eye and the Houses of Parliament. The race ends with the iconic stretch up the Mall to the finishing line in front of Buckingham Palace.
I will be doing this 26.2 in order to raise money for the Heathrow Community Fund and Whizz-Kidz (move a life forward).
Please find below information about Whizz-Kids, the information about the Heathrow Community Fund is below:
Their main mission is to transform the lives of the disabled children by providing the equipment, support and life skills they need, when they need them – giving them the chance to develop their full potential.
Did you know that there are thousands of disabled children waiting for their childhoods to start, as they struggle to get a wheelchair that meets all their needs? Our vision for the future is that all disabled children’s lives are full of fun, friendship and hope for an independent future. Just like any other kid’s.
I think generally believe this is a good cause to be supporting, to be able to provide continuity and care to those who need it the most.
I want us to be make and hope that you can support us by donating.
Please donate generously for two really good causes!!
All funds raised will be passed to the charity irrespective of whether my target is reached, not reached or exceeded.
Heathrow Community Fund
The Heathrow Community Trust is an independent grant-making charity that receives funding from Heathrow Airport Limited, other companies on the airport such as John Lewis, Proper Oils, and other suppliers, and the noise fines imposed on airlines. We also have places in the London Marathon and Heathrow employees raise funds for us by taking part in events like the Midnight Marathon in which participants run a marathon on Heathrow’s runway.
We award funding to charities and community groups working to improve the quality of life of the communities in the 9 boroughs neighbouring Heathrow Airport (Ealing, Hillingdon, Hounslow, Richmond, Runnymede, Slough, South Bucks, Spelthorne and Windsor & Maidenhead).
