In celebration of turning 80, our wonderful Grandma will be experiencing the adventures of Go Ape in September to raise money for Karibuni Children.
My Grandma, Joy, suffered three strokes a few years ago. This has not stopped her from enjoying her life to the full, spending time with family and friends, and keeping active. Most importantly, it has not stopped her from supporting Karibuni Children, of which she has been a trustee since 1995.
For 24 years Karibuni has been supporting projects in Kenya . Through education and feeding, they work to transform the lives of children living in the slums and poor rural communities of Kenya. Karibuni works with children to help them gain a qualification or a skill to earn a living. In total some 1200 children of varying abilities are now being supported, from paying for nursery school, college or university fees to helping with food, school uniforms and paying for medical care.
Thank you so much for reading and please donate anything you can to this wonderful charity, so that they can continue to support children in Kenya. This is a daunting task for my Grandma, who is feeling nervous about the climbing wall to begin the challenge and the 85-metre zip wire at the end. I know that Joy will show the same courage as she did after her strokes. Grandma, we are all very proud of you.
