Peter’s story
After many years of trying I have managed to get a place in the London Marathon. Its always been an ambition to do this race, its such an iconic race.
11 years ago my "little" brother, Craig, unfortunately was diagnosed with life threatening leukemia. Luckily I was a stem cell match and was honoured to be able help in his fight for survival through stem cell donation (two donations - he is not so little!).
Having returned to full health I am proud that Craig not only decided to challenge himself learning to ride a motorbike but also to volunteer as a motorbike rider for Derbyshire Blood Bikes. What an inspirational way to give back to the NHS for who we are so grateful.
For these reasons by sponsoring me to give blood sweat and tears on the streets on London you are supporting Derbyshire Blood bikes to transport blood for the NHS (I doubt they want the sweat and tears). Many thanks for the donations.
Peter
