Project Play’s story

All donations will go directly towards Project Play, a small grassroots organisation who provide displaced children in Northern France with safe spaces to play. Project Play runs six play sessions every week, based on the ethos that play can be used to build positive memories, help children grow emotional resilience and therefore mitigate the impact of trauma. Our service combines elements of structured activities, education and free play to give these children the building blocks to learn, grow and flourish.

Since December 2018, Project Play has worked with over 230 children, across informal refugee camps and accommodation centres in Northern France. We need your help to continue providing this vital service! Your money will go directly towards resources for our sessions, fuel so that we can get to and from the sites we work from and accommodation - so that our wonderful team of dedicated volunteers can stay in Northern France.

We are about to purchase a vehicle, meaning we are in urgent need of support with our other ongoing costs. If we meet our target of £3000, this will cover all of our costs for 72 sessions, or three months of play!

Project Play is an official partner of Donate4Refugees.

All funds raised will be passed to the charity irrespective of whether my target is reached, not reached or exceeded.

What makes us wonderful?

We recognise the selfless commitment made by fundraisers who train for months to run marathons, face their fears by jumping out of aeroplanes or open their homes to the community for charity bakes and coffee mornings. We believe the charities they support should receive EVERY PENNY from their fundraising efforts.

We also believe that Gift Aid (a scheme enabling charities to reclaim tax on donations made by UK taxpayers) should be directed IN FULL to the charities. This is why the Wonderful Organisation does not generate profit (or even cover costs) by deducting money from fundraisers' sponsors or Gift Aid contributions.

We are a non-profit organisation funded entirely by like-minded, philanthropic businesses. That's what makes us wonderful!
