Team Welsh Warriers’s story

Neil Griffiths, Jason Matthews, Mark Rees and Gareth Jones form "The Welsh Warriors" who are a team from Swansea entering this year's Screwball Rally.

The Screwball Rally 2018 consists of a staggering 1726 mile road trip over 4 days encompassing 8 different European countries: England, France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Holland, Germany, Czech Republic and Poland. The vehicle they will complete this amazing venture in will cost no more than £750.

The Welsh Warriors are undertaking this adventure to raise money for local charity FABRIC.

FABRIC supports young people leaving care to transition successfully into adulthood.

This adventure highlights the importance of fun in life. Young people living in semi-independent living often have few "fun activities" to look forward to, those things that many of us focus on. The monies raised from this event will be used to provide activities chosen by the young people.

Activities young people hope to do include:

  • Trecco Bay
  • Harry Potter World
  • Paintballing
  • Anne Frank Museum
  • Camping
  • Roller derby
  • Any trip outside the UK

We would love to exceed our target of £500, every penny counts :)

Our wonderful partners

Our wonderful partners - who support us with cash and services - make it possible for us to pass EVERY PENNY raised from your fundraising efforts and generous donations to our charities, including Gift Aid. Of course, we would be unable to do so without them.

What makes us wonderful?

We recognise the selfless commitment made by fundraisers who train for months to run marathons, face their fears by jumping out of aeroplanes or open their homes to the community for charity bakes and coffee mornings. We believe the charities they support should receive EVERY PENNY from their fundraising efforts.

We also believe that Gift Aid (a scheme enabling charities to reclaim tax on donations made by UK taxpayers) should be directed IN FULL to the charities. This is why the Wonderful Organisation does not generate profit (or even cover costs) by deducting money from fundraisers' sponsors or Gift Aid contributions.

We are a non-profit organisation funded entirely by like-minded, philanthropic businesses. That's what makes us wonderful!
