Lorraine’s story

I'm doing an Ultra Marathon! Please sponsor me to make it worth the pain.

I'm probably best described as a 'reluctant runner' - one who runs if there is a medal involved or someone has promised me cake. I'm often last in races (or second to last if my sister is there!), but I love a challenge and couldn't resist this one.

The Sunset to Sunrise challenge is a race along the banks of the River Severn on the disused Ironbridge to Bridgnorth Railway line in the dark! The race starts at 4.16pm on the 17th November and finishes when ever you have had enough pain or at Sunrise on the 18th November at 7.33am.

I am raising money for Premier Foundation as I volunteer with them and they do amazing work. Please donate if you can, and feel free to come along and join in, or cheer me on/laugh at me on the night!

*Please note I have bought my own race place, so all money raised will go directly to Premier Foundation*. Thank you.

All funds raised will be passed to the charity irrespective of whether my target is reached, not reached or exceeded.

Premier Foundation

Premier Foundation uses the power of sport and performing arts to make a difference in disadvantaged young people's lives.

By providing free, fun and accessible physical activity and performing arts to young people and communities, we aim to get young people more active more often and develop a passion for physical activity and the arts. Our overarching goal is to foster a nation of individuals and communities who believe that physical activity is a daily priority.

We also use the medium of physical activity and performing arts to provide young unemployed people with pathways to education and employment. With youth crime rates in England and Wales increasing, organised sports and arts programmes play an invaluable part in reducing youth crime by giving young people a positive identity, a feeling of empowerment and by passing on skills such as leadership, teamwork and self governance. The impact of these sporting interventions has seen a reduction in anti social behaviour and the risk of further exclusion.

These children and young people are our workforce of tomorrow. Premier Foundation provides fun and exciting solutions to tackle issues that they face, and allow them to focus on reaching their full potential.

Registered Charity Number: 1159095.

What makes us wonderful?

We recognise the selfless commitment made by fundraisers who train for months to run marathons, face their fears by jumping out of aeroplanes or open their homes to the community for charity bakes and coffee mornings. We believe the charities they support should receive EVERY PENNY from their fundraising efforts.

We also believe that Gift Aid (a scheme enabling charities to reclaim tax on donations made by UK taxpayers) should be directed IN FULL to the charities. This is why the Wonderful Organisation does not generate profit (or even cover costs) by deducting money from fundraisers' sponsors or Gift Aid contributions.

We are a non-profit organisation funded entirely by like-minded, philanthropic businesses. That's what makes us wonderful!
